Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has named Derek Lloyd vice president of strategic and national accounts, succeeding Brennan Quesnele who will become senior vice president of sales at Oceania Cruises effective February 24.
Lloyd will be responsible for driving national account sales with various travel partners and accounts in the U.S. and Canada. With over 30 years of experience in the cruise industry and almost 25 years with NCL, he most recently served as vice president of field sales for North America, where he was responsible for the company’s sales strategy and cultivation of key partner relationships. In his numerous roles, Lloyd has been involved in sales and business development functions in the U.S. and Canada, including contract negotiations, tour operator and consortia account management, as well as customer relationship development.
“I am very excited for Derek to take on this new role as vice president of strategic and national accounts,” said John Chernesky, senior vice president of North America Sales at NCL. “Brennan has done an incredible job at facilitating the growth of this division, and I couldn’t think of anyone else who can step into his role than our very own, Derek Lloyd. Derek has been instrumental in strengthening our engagement with thousands of partners across North America, and I am confident with his experience and passion that he will continue to lead the sales team to new heights.”
Lloyd said, “I look forward to continuing to strengthen our relationship with our travel partners as well as our commitment to being the easiest cruise line to do business with. It is such an exciting time for the company with the 20th ship in the fleet, Norwegian Aqua, debuting this spring, and Norwegian Luna in March 2026 as well as the recent launch of our all-new 'Experience More' brand positioning and value driven 'More At Sea' offer, there is so much for our travel partner community to look forward to in the future.”
NCL will appoint a new vice president of field sales to replace Lloyd’s former role soon.
