Paris Insider: Four Fantastic Fashion Exhibits for Spring 2025

Paris, the first fashion capital of the world, is having an exceptional abundance of fashion exhibits for spring of 2025. From two haute couture exhibitions to a designer’s passion for flowers and iconic photos by a world-renowned fashion photographer, you won’t want to miss these shows, so book your ticket to Paris straight away.

Louvre Couture

In a history-making event, the Louvre has never had a fashion exhibition since they opened in 1793—until now. "Louvre Couture," which coincidentally debuted during haute couture fashion week at the end of January, is a glorious representation of the art form. Over 100 designs from 1961 until the present day are on display with designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Givenchy, Christian Dior, Iris Van Herpen, Rick Owens, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Thierry Mugler, Vivienne Westwood, Azzedine Alaia, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Schiaparelli and John Galliano.

Tip: Make sure to watch the informative video about how the exhibit was organized, which details the care and special handling of the pieces.

The "Louvre Couture" is available until July 25 and is located in the Richelieu Wing of the Louvre.

The Flowers of Yves Saint Laurent

Flowers were a major influence in Yves Saint Laurent’s work and in his homes in Paris and Marrakech that he shared with his partner Pierre Berge. In this new exhibition at the former atelier and showroom of Yves Saint Laurent, 30 garments and illustrations of Saint Laurent’s using various forms of flower prints and silhouettes in his designs for over 40 years are on display until May 4 at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent.

Tip: Make sure to visit Saint Laurent’s former, intact atelier on the third floor.

Dolce and Gabbana: Du Coeur a la Main

Celebrating the extravagance and exuberance of the Italian dynamic duo of fashion design, Dolce and Gabbana, a new exhibition pulls out all the stops. Focusing on their haute couture work, the exhibit is like a magic carpet ride, taking you into their world of sumptuous and fantasy fashion. Divided into 10 galleries, each one is a visual history of Italian art, architecture, crafts, folk traditions, regional cultures, opera, ballet, music, cinema, and theater. One room has a live demonstration of seamstresses sewing and patterning garments.

Dior/Lindbergh

In one of his last photo shoots before he passed away in 2019, international fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh shot a series of photographs with 80 designs from the house of Dior from over seven decades. Using the streets of midtown New York as his backdrop, he photographed top models in gritty, industrial sites in black and white. In addition to the above-mentioned photos, there’s a series of photos from 1988 to 2018 that Lindbergh specifically collaborated with Dior to shoot its collections.

Lindbergh was considered one of the great fashion photographers of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, working with top fashion magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, luxury fashion brands Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani and Prada, and supermodels Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista.

The "Dior/Lindbergh" exhibition is on until May 4 at Le Galerie Dior.
