JW Marriot to Open First Property in Greece in 2025

JW Marriott has announced the opening of JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa in summer 2025. Marking the brand’s debut in Greece, the property will be situated on the island of Crete.

Stretching across 100 acres of coastline, JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa will be located on the outskirts of Chania along Marathi Beach. Designed by the architecture firm Block722, JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa will offer 160 rooms, suites and villas, many with private pools. The property will also be home to a spa; or, alternatively, guests can avail themselves of the cave at Linovrochi, which has medicinal waters and a peaceful, welcoming ambiance for relaxation and meditation.

JW Marriott Crete will house six food and beverage outlets, which will focus on fresh, local ingredients. Highlights include Cretan restaurant Anóee; an open-fire seaside restaurant, Fayi; the resort’s main restaurant offering a Mediterranean all-day menu, buffet and à la carte; and Suncti, a seafront pool bar offering cocktails, coffee and snacks.

Offering both on-site and off-property activities, JW Marriotts Crete’s “Unique Experiences” allow guests to immerse themselves in the destination. Activities include harvesting in the JW Garden led by the island’s local farmers, cooking classes, cheesemaking, water sports, fishing, wine-tasting and sunrise yoga.
