La Bahia Hotel & Spa to Debut in Summer 2025 in Santa Cruz, CA

La Bahia Hotel & Spa in Santa Cruz, CA, is accepting reservations ahead of stays beginning late summer 2025. In 1926, architect and UC Berkeley professor William C. Hays envisioned the now-familiar landmark to sit on Santa Cruz’s beachfront. Originally a series of apartments alongside a small hotel, the building was known for its Juliet balconies overlooking interior courtyards and its belltower. The update was designed by ForrestPerkins and evokes a seaside Mediterranean escape.

The hotel houses 155 guestrooms, including 16 suites. In-room amenities include dual vanities, coffee machines, luxury bath and body products, and more. Four culinary concepts invite both travelers and locals: High Tide, the signature restaurant, is a Pacific Rim-inspired concept; Low Tide Bar & Grill offers craft cocktails, live music and contemporary flavors; Pearl, the champagne bar, will serve personalized libations alongside wines, champagnes and spirits; and Plunge, situated at the edge of the oceanfront pool, serves classic cocktails and poolside bites.

The Spa at La Bahia is a Moorish concept set to include four indoor and four outdoor treatment rooms, a sauna overlooking Monterey Bay, two steam rooms and a rooftop zen deck. The spa menu will showcase skincare, body treatments and energy work.

In addition, the hotel offers more than 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. A signature venue, the Bahia Ballroom, is a 4,000-square-foot space adorned with archways and residential-style niches of the Spanish Mediterranean esthetic. Additionally, the 5,200-square-foot Seaside Roof Deck offers views of the Pacific out to Monterey Bay and east to the redwood mountains.

On La Bahia’s beach, guests will find Business & Pleasure Co. recliners and umbrellas dotting the sand with dedicated beach butler service. They can also hop on a cruiser for a bike ride down the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Nearby attractions include Henry Cowell State Park, the Natural Bridges of Monarch Trail, the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History, the Santa Cruz Wharf, Walton Lighthouse, and wineries and breweries that showcase vintner and brewer practices that span generations.
