The Italian luxury hospitality group ROMEO Collection has announced the opening of Hotel ROMEO Roma, its second design hotel in the city. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the 74-room boutique hotel is located just steps from Piazza del Popolo, inside a 16th-century palace.
At the heart of the hotel lies a courtyard, designed as a contemporary urban square. This space houses IL BAR, which is open all day; La Spa Sisley Paris; and IL CORTILE, an all-day dining service. Additionally, La Terrazza, in collaboration with Krug, offers a selection of champagne and views over Rome’s rooftops.
ROMEO Roma has been designed with a focus on reducing environmental impact without compromising comfort or esthetics. The 74 rooms and suites at ROMEO Roma blend contemporary design and historical tradition. Advanced technology integration allows for intuitive control of the environment, with customizable lighting, whirlpool tubs, hidden televisions and integrated fireplaces in some suites. Some rooms offer private terraces, providing panoramic views of Rome’s rooftops.
The noble floor, a focal point of the hotel, has rooms adorned with original frescoes, including a frescoed room with views over Via di Ripetta. Alongside modern art pieces, the hotel displays historical artifacts uncovered during restoration works, such as the white marble head of Livia Drusilla, wife of Emperor Augustus, offering guests a connection to the history of Rome.

Chef Alain Ducasse brings his culinary vision to Rome through an exclusive partnership with ROMEO Collection. Following the success of the restaurant at ROMEO Napoli, Ducasse now brings his approach to Roman gastronomy. Il Ristorante Alain Ducasse Roma, located within ROMEO Roma, will offer a fine dining experience showcasing Italian ingredients.
ROMEO Roma offers nearly 13,000 square feet dedicated to wellness. La Spa Sisley Paris offers treatments based on the Phyto-Aromatiques philosophy, which combines plant extracts and natural essences for a sensory relaxation experience. The indoor/outdoor pool features a transparent floor, revealing the archeological remains beneath. Spa facilities include a hammam, gravitational tub, salt wall and fitness center.
With its opening, ROMEO Roma joins ROMEO Napoli and will soon be followed by ROMEO Massa Lubrense.
