Ruby Hotels has announced its first hotel project in Malta, following the opening of Ruby Ninu Workspaces in February last year. The company is collaborating with the VBL Group, Valletta’s largest private real estate owner and hotel developer, for the project. The new Ruby Hotel is scheduled to open in early 2026.
Under the leadership of CEO and Founder Michael Struck, Ruby Hotels is bringing its “Lean Luxury” concept to Valletta. The project is a conversion of several historic buildings on Strait Street.
Located in Valletta’s historic old town, this project calls for approximately 88 rooms. Set in the heart of the city, the property enjoys a prime location, with many amenities and attractions conveniently within walking distance. The hotel comprises three adjoining historic buildings, some dating to the 16th century. It will offer public spaces on the ground floor and a rooftop terrace with a pool and an all-day bar, offering views of the sea and the city’s skyline, including Valletta’s famous St. Paul’s Cathedral and Fort St. Elmo.
The VBL Group specializes in real estate development with an exclusive focus on Valletta. Positioned ideally for assembling this project, VBL over a period of several years, carefully crafted this combination of historic townhouses. Throughout this process, utmost care was taken to respect the history of these properties, ensuring the preservation of their details, from the intricate designs adorning historical facades and staircases to the grandeur of the courtyards.
