Ruby Hotels has announced the opening of its newest property, Ruby Stella Hotel & Bar in Clerkenwell, London. The property marks Ruby Hotels’ 20th hotel in Europe and third in London.
Situated on Eyre Street Hill, the 153-room hotel is a short walk from landmarks such as The Postal Museum, St. Paul’s Cathedral and The British Museum. This location provides guests with seamless access to the best of Clerkenwell and Shoreditch, including restaurants, cafés and nightlife hotspots.
Ruby Stella’s design is influenced by the literary history of Clerkenwell, a neighborhood once home to Charles Dickens. “The Pickwick Papers,” one of Dickens’ earliest works, is said to have its roots in this very area. In a nod to Dickens’ legacy, whimsical representations of London’s urban foxes, complete with monocles and quills, can be found in select areas of the hotel. The hotel’s interior also pays tribute to the local bookbinding heritage, with handcrafted elements and details that honor the artistry that is still alive in Clerkenwell.

Ruby Stella offers a variety of room categories to suit every traveler’s needs. The NEST Rooms, ideal for solo travelers or short stays, range from 118 to 247 square feet. The COSY Rooms offer slightly more space, averaging around 183 square feet, and are perfect for couples or those looking for extra comfort. For extended stays, the LOVELY Rooms total up to 280 square feet, with added touches such as armchairs. Additionally, Ruby Stella introduced windowless rooms for the first time, which the company says is "ideal for guests seeking a quiet and restful environment."
The hotel’s ground-floor Courtyard Terrace is perfect for breakfast al fresco, coffee or an evening drink. Additionally, the hotel’s bar offers breakfast, artisanal coffee, Mediterranean-inspired snacks and cocktails. The bar also hosts live performances by emerging local bands.
The hotel is located near Farringdon Underground Station and is approximately 40 minutes from Heathrow Airport via Crossrail.
