Intrepid Unveils 55 New Trips for 2025

Intrepid Travel has introduced new trips for 2025, debuting 55 itineraries, six new countries and over 200 new experiences. These small-group tours are led by a local leader and offer travelers immersive experiences. New destinations for 2025 include Ladakh, India; Hokkaido, Japan; Cape York, Australia; and Intrepid's first land-based trip in Greenland. The Maldives and the West African nations of Benin, Togo, Ghana, Senegal and Gambia have been introduced as new countries, as well, meaning travelers can now choose from over 120 countries worldwide. 

Highlights of the new range include:

  • Expeditions
    • "Greenland Expedition" – Most travelers visit Greenland as part of longer artic cruises, experiencing the country from the water with occasional land excursions. Intrepid’s new 10-day expedition will take travelers inland to explore Greenlandic culture and traverse the country’s diverse landscapes by foot.
    • "Benin, Togo and Ghana Adventure" – This new 15-day adventure takes travelers to rarely visited spots like Teshie-Nungua in Ghana where skilled artisans craft elaborate art coffins.
  • Rail routes
    • "Trans-Mongolian Railway" – This 11-day adventure takes travelers to some of the world’s most remote regions, riding a section of the Trans-Mongolian Railway from China to Mongolia. Travelers will take the bullet train to inner Mongolia, staying in a traditional ger campsite and joining a family of camel herders for lunch along the way.
    • "Express to the Orient" – Following the train route from Paris to Istanbul, this 15-day route takes travelers on local trains to follow the routes once used by the Orient Express carriages in the 19th century. From Strasbourg and Munich to Budapest and Plovdiv, there are plenty of stopovers to explore on this historical route.
  • Active tours
    • "India Trekking in Ladakh" – Leaving the tourist track behind, guests will travel to Leh and join the Markha Valley trek through remote lands on this 14-day adventure. Travelers will see ancient ruins, wander through Buddhist monasteries and tuck into Indian cuisine while spending nights camping in the wilderness.
    • "Peru: Hike, Bike, Raft & SUP" – Travelers will hike, bike, raft and paddle board their way through the ancient sites and natural landscapes of Peru on this 10-day visit to the home of the Incas. From trekking to Machu Picchu to rafting along the Urubamba River, this is a trip for the active, curious and adventurous.
  • Next-gen travel (18- to 35-year-olds)
    • "Essential Scandinavia" – This nine-day trip showcases the essential sites and cities of Scandinavia in Northern Europe, passing through Denmark, Sweden and Finland. Travelers will relax in a Finnish sauna, learn the art of Swedish fika and take walking tours with their local leader, enjoying lots of free time along the way.
    • "Real Australia" – This 17-day journey from Sydney to Cairns is perfect for 18– to 35-year-old travelers who love the ocean, rainforest and wildlife. From meeting koalas at the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie and visiting Magnetic Island, to paddle boarding with the Gumbaynggir community and sailing through the Whitsundays, travelers can expect an epic adventure along Australia’s East Coast.
  • Family getaways
    • "Southern Thailand Family Holiday" – On this eight-day adventure round-trip from Phuket, families will cruise along Cheow Lan Lake aboard a longtail boat, explore Khao Sok National Park, share a homecooked meal and try their hand at batik painting during a homestay experience in the Phrom Lok district.
    • "Iceland Family Holiday" – On this six-day adventure, families will explore Iceland’s crater lakes, coastal cliffs and Golden Circles, learn about the country’s folklore, meet Icelandic horses on a farm stay and experience real lava up close at the Lava Show in Vik.
  • Sailing trips
    • "Sail Maldives" – On this eight-day getaway, travelers will climb aboard a traditional dhoni boat with a local leader and crew by their side for a sailing trip through the Maldives. They will spend their days sailing, swimming and snorkeling among colorful corals, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical fish.
    • "Sail Turkey: Fethiye to Bodrum" – Travelers will set sail for the Turkish Riviera on this eight-day trip that includes sightseeing, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, relaxing and shopping. Stops include Gocek, Ekincik, Marmaris, Datca and Bodrum to visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites, ancient ruins, beaches and more.
  • Impact travel
    • "Kenya Cycle Fundraiser" – This one-off trip hosted by Intrepid’s non-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, invites travelers on an eight-day cycling adventure through Kenya’s wild landscapes in partnership with World Bicycle Relief. Travelers will spend three days cycling through diverse scenery, spotting hippos, antelopes, zebras and crocodiles, and exploring the wilds of the savanna. They will have the chance to connect with other fundraisers and learn about the impact that their fundraising will have on the local community.
